(1947) Walter and Marjorie Brandt were the first to successfully work Basset Hounds in obedience competition and their "Lulu's Red", bred by Mr. Mathew Moore, became the first Basset Hound obedience title holder. The Brandt's went on to use the Abbot Run Valley prefix with a litter in 1952. Though there were many champions, Ch. Abbot Run Valley Brassy was their most famous and a most influential stallion hound in the breed.
